Stiltsville

Stiltsville rises above the shallow seagrass flats of Biscayne Bay, a remote community with roots in the 1930s when the first shack was built over the water. Accessible only by boat, it became a notorious hotspot tied to rum-running, gambling, and Miami’s winter social scene. At its peak in 1960, 27 structures stood here, though hurricanes and fires have claimed most over time.
